What Are Cats ?
Cats, commonly known as the domestic cat or house cat, is a small domestic carnivorous mammal. It is the only domesticated species of cat. It is usually kept as a domestic and farm cat, but also roams freely like a wild cat, avoiding human contact. It is valued by humans for its ability to accompany and kill pests. Its claws are retractable and suitable for hunting small prey such as mice. It has a strong, flexible body, quick reactions, sharp teeth, and well-developed night vision and sense of smell. It is a social species, but also a solitary hunter and crepuscular predator. Cat communication includes vocalizations such as meows, purrs, trills, hisses, growls, and purrs as well as the cat’s body language. It can hear sounds that are too faint or too high-frequency for human ears, such as those made by small mammals. It also secretes and senses pheromones. Recent advances in archaeology and genetics have shown that the domestication of the cat occurred in Turkey around 7700 BC. Love My Cat!
